Movement to sound, sound to Movement
a project for piano, elektronics and video
German-based pianist Rei Nakamura has been devising conceptual programmes using electronics, movement and video since 2007, each year following a theme with commissions from diferent composers. Her intention is to create and seek for an entirely new type of performance, both visually and aurally examining the interrelation of movement and sound, which are independent, but mutually supportive. She has toured these programmes in Germany (supported by Deutschemusikrat), Sweden, Japan, Spain and England (supported by Arts Council England).
